## 2) Scope and Assumptions

This manual is written with the following assumptions.

* The instructions are based on a setup with 4 locators placed at the corners of the detection area (a space of roughly 15 m × 15 m). If you use more locators or the space has an irregular shape, additional configuration may be required. In that case, contact [support@ones1ght.com](mailto:support@ones1ght.com).
* This manual covers the downlink method (DL-TDoA) using mobile devices. In the downlink method, mobile devices receive signals sent by the locators and compute their own position.
* The uplink method, which attaches tags to people or assets, uses different equipment and configuration and is not covered in this manual.

## 3) Terminology

| Term | Description |
| - | - |
| Line of sight (LOS) | ·A state where signals travel in a straight line between the locator and the receiving device with no obstacles in between |
| Detection area | ·The positioning area covered by the locators; positions are measured within this area |
| Reference direction | ·The top edge that defines the orientation of the space, used when setting the plan orientation and the coordinate system |
| Downlink (DL-TDoA) | ·A method where mobile devices receive signals sent by the locators and compute their own position |
| Plan scaling | ·Matching distances on the plan image to real-world distances (m) |
| Locator | ·A device mounted on a wall or tripod that transmits UWB signals |
| Master locator (INP) | ·The locator that anchors signal transmission within a cluster·The master locator transmits first, the remaining locators (RES) follow in a fixed order, and the mobile device computes its position from the arrival-time differences of each signal |
| Session ID | ·A value that identifies a cluster |
| Simulation mode | ·A mode for exploring settings and features with a sample floor plan before a partner key is registered |
| Reference point (0, 0) | ·The coordinate origin at the bottom-left corner when facing the reference direction |
| Offset | ·The difference between the conceptual reference point (0, 0) and the coordinates on the plan. Occurs when the plan image includes wall thickness or margins |
| Cluster | ·A unit that groups multiple locators into one transmission group |
| Partner key (gpk\_) | ·An integration key issued in GeoSpace and registered in OneS1ght |
| Provisioning | ·The process of configuring a locator's Wi-Fi with the GeoSpace Mobile app so it connects to and registers with the GeoSpace server |
| Host | ·The locator's main unit. Handles boot, network, and server connection, and runs separate firmware from the internal UWB module |
| GeoSpace | ·Software that aligns installed locator positions with building and floor plans, and manages information such as locator coordinates and event areas·Provides this information for use in the mobile SDK |
| OneS1ght | ·A cloud service that analyzes and utilizes the positioning data collected through GeoSpace |
| SDK key (ock\_sdk\_) | ·An authentication key used by the SDK in your application when calling the API |
| Zone | ·An area drawn on the plan, used as the basis for enter, exit, and dwell events |

## 4) Overall Structure

Set up the positioning infrastructure in the following order. Each step assumes the previous step is complete.
